Fan-made SupCom music video: “Art of War”
F[e] from the official forums put together a very nice music video titled “Art of War” using the Supreme Commander engine to make all of the visuals. Basically, it looks like he had a huge battle on Seton’s Clutch and some other maps (with many experimentals of course), saved the replays, and then played them back from innovative camera angles to capture the footage for the video. It’s well put together and the action does match up with the music quite nicely. I guess my only complaints would be the trouble he had with encoding the video; there seems to be some interlacing and color balance/blowout problems, as well as popping in the audio track. Other than that, it’s really good, and well worth a download. The best way to view it is probably by downloading the high-res version from FileFront (no registration required). Here’s hoping that we see a lot more of this stuff in the future, because it’s a blast to watch, it showcases the game engine very well, and it provides points of views in battles that we, as the commanders looking on from a top-down perspective, just don’t usually see.
