SWP, can you post your system specifications? It sounds like a system memory issue, or a video card issue, rather than a hard drive issue.

Jeff, same thing. If we know what your systems are, it makes it easier to diagnose a problem. Actually, it makes it possible to at least try. Right now we have nothing to go on other than the game isn't working correctly.

I just purchased SupCom, Forged Alliance and I cannot get past the "in transit" stage. This happens whether trying to play the tutorial or any other mode of the game. It shows "in transit", then the screen eventually goes black and then backs out to my desktop. When I try to open it back up says it is currently running. All patches are loaded via GPGNet.

The screen goes black and then I get

but, I have more than enough room on my PC.

The next time you don't know what something is, rather than saying so and waiting two days for a response, you could just do a Google search and find out for yourself immediately. I just did a Google search on md5 and the first result is the Wikipedia article, which tells you everything you'd need to know about it.

An md5 is a type of hash. It's where your computer looks at all the bits in a file and adds them together with a certain algorithm, and spits out a small chunk of text.
For more information, try Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MD5).
http://www.mgillespie.plus.com/MD5Check.zip for an MD5 utility.
