Four-twenty open thread
Happy four-twenty everyone. This is an open thread like all the rest, except for one notable exception: it contains poll-y goodness about the removal of water maps from the ranked rotation.
In addition to the poll, if you have any thoughts on whether temporarily removing all water maps from the ladder was a good move, feel free to say so in the comments below.

Aeon still has superior Air so I stick by them.

That’s pretty much my rational as well. Plus, I’m so used to them now there’s little point in switching before the rebalance.

Cybran still. They kill your superior air with there t1 mobile SAM sites (:

Wuped: Very true. Cybran’s T1 mobile AA are a ridiculously good unit, to the point that nobody really even bothers fielding T1 offensive air units against Cybran players.

I have always preferred the visual look of Cybran, and have generally played them unless I was playing a map that I thought I absolutely would get killed by Aurorae.
Incidentally, we had this sudden infestation of flying ants in my office building. Here and gone in 20 minutes. Anyway, while they were flying around, I thought to myself, “It’s a good thing I play Cybran and have good T1 mobile AA.”

I play Aeon for the same reasons. They just look cool. Cybran really is more my style, with the mobile stealth and such, but Aeon is so nice and white/grey and shiny!

Heh it’s kind of funny how cyde ways named it “Four-twenty” instead of 4/20 now that I notice it…

I still play UEF, basically because of the pure power they ‘COULD’ have. I think in the re-balance, the UEF SCUs will get a nice boost for the offensive. Last night I played an hour long 2v2 that was only resolved because I was able to walk 4 SCUs thru the opponents base and take out several T3 Mass Fab Farms.
I’m kinda glad they took out the water maps, but Fins revenge was a favorite of mine. I suspect 1 of 2 things will happen to the Aeon T1 tank will not be able to fire will on water, or it will be slowed down to probably 50% speed while on water.

Why there is no option for Random Faction? ;) .

I have stuck with Cybran throughout the game, I have had a little peak at the others, mainly just abit of the campaign but I prefer cybran by far. I do think the aurora is annoying as hell as it means on a water map I have to build pd’s around the coast but I can live with that, the thing I don’t like about the aurora is it’s range, I seen a lab which put the aurora tanks against the other factions and they always won due to range I think, but not sure, there was one which was like 40 aurora tanks against 40 manti and the aurora still had about 20+ left and all the manti were gone, that to me is a definite inbalance.
