Crazy weekend open thread
This is an open thread just like all the others, and hopefully, the last open thread before the patch. I had a feeling that the patch was coming out last week, but alas, I was wrong. Maybe this week’s the charm? Oh, and here’s an issue we need to resolve once and for all:

Ahh you are funny Cyde. I say that the map is named Winter’s Duel. Winters duel does not make any sense, and winter duel seems too obvious.

While Winter Duel may seem to be too obvious it’s for a reason, it’s the map’s name. Don’t believe me? Go start a custom match, scroll through the maps list, and check. You won’t find an “s” or punctuation of any kind.

The fact of the matter is, both the game and GPGnet sometimes have both Winter Duel and Winters Duel written down in different cases. For example, if you open the replay vault, the map is called Winters Duel.

In addition, although the map name clearly states Winter Duel, the description of the map refers to it as Winter’s Duel. One of them is a typo. Only GPG can decide which.

It’s a duel.
It occurs in winter.

Who is Winter than? If it is Winter’s duel. “’s” is possesive, implies ownership, so doesn’t it have to be someones duel, Winter’s duel. Or am I wrong? I mean a season can’t have ownership. I think Winter Duel is best regardless, it is to the point.

KMD and I have been trying to find the perfect theme song for the Galactic Colossus. He suggested Institute – Bullet-Proof Skin, but it’s too fast-paced, I think. The GC needs something that’s both mellow and full of ass-kicking.
“Print This!” by Mattias IA Eklundh might fit, but I don’t have the song.

I think the GC should have a song that truely rocks out for it’s theme song. Something like Innervision by System of a Down or Battlecry by Crazytown. Oh and it could have some taunts thrown in when it’s blowing up a base. I always liked the AoE2 taunt “you played for 2 hours to die like this?” taunt.
