A Supreme Commander video tribute in two parts
Jamez848 on YouTube has created a well-done video tribute to Supreme Commander in two parts. I am amazed by both the complexity of the battles, the film’s direction, and the amazing detail in which the graphics were captured. I would recommend maximizing the viewing screen, as the graphics are high enough quality as to not significantly distort the experience. Here are the videos:
To begin I will take a look at part one. The battle begins with a large UEF fleet attacking a Cybran naval yard. Carnage quickly ensues as the Cybrans were found nearly undefended. However, the Cybrans quickly counter. An experimental is sent with an escort of renegades, and plenty of them too, to fend off the naval incursion. The UEF is surprised…but not unprepared.
After the initial skirmish quiets down the main Cybran fleet comes into view. A new battle erupts as the Cybran battleship pummels the UEF fleet. Quickly the skies are filled with planes, anti air fire, and the debris of the exploding ships below.
In part two we see the Cybran’s revenge. An epic assault is how I can best describe the next sequence. The march begins with a skirmish outside the base’s defenses, but it was not nearly enough to halt the Cybran advance. The action shots here are just priceless, especially the clip of the UEF tier three mobile artillery firing its first round and its effects. This might be my own preference though. The second stage of the fight begins when the Cybran waves collapse onto the UEF defenses. Gunships are scrambled from an Atlantis waiting in the harbor, a buffer force of tier two tanks is deployed, and the first volley of shells is sent towards the oncoming army. Though the Cybran advance eventually made it to the enemies gate, they lacked the punch to break through.
A Cybran naval attack begins as the third wave, catching the Atlantis off guard. The Cybran Destroyers make landfall but are quickly stumped by an arriving big, and very mad, fatboy. Though the first option has ended in bitter defeat, the Cybrans had stockpiled their anger into a few late blooming monkey lords :-). A few of the Cybran behemoths are brought to their knees before reaching the walls. The bots quickly descent upon the fat boys waiting at the bases entrance, using their concentrated “beams of death” to rip through the armor. After the UEF defenses are crippled the remaining spider bots and escort walk through the base leveling critical infrastructure. It is only near the end that the commander is targeted. The UEF commander goes down quickly, but only after destroying one of the last monkey lords.
Well I hope you enjoy the videos as much as I did. I am sure they were planned down to the unit, but it still makes for an impressive display of our beloved game.

I just took the time to watch them both and they’re an outstanding showcase of the game’s beauty and complexity – and the sound track was awesome! : ) Very well done.

The SupCom team should make and release promotional videos like this–sort of like an in-game trailer but a bit longer and with a “story.” Valve did this with Day of Defeat: Source–they made an amazing video showcasing the game and some new graphics technology in it–basically, the video was a massive brawl between the USA and Wermacht on one of the DoD maps. It was an amazing video.

Very nice. Partially due to my love of all things cybran, I especially liked the end with the monkeylords. The music and direction of that made up for some ho-hum parts elsewhere.

You should also check out part three that he made, this time with the aeon, it is also a great piece of video editing and if you liked parts one and two you should check it out.

the videos were very grate in cybran and uef armies, aeon in number 2 & 3 just domenated them all,the graphics are really good better then what i have seen good job gas pwered games,take a look at some more videos for yourselfs some are good and others(zzzzz)
