New invulnerability exploit in the patch
There’s a new exploit in the patch that allows you to create units that are invulnerable and invisible. Note: use this exploit in skirmish or casual multiplayer games with consenting opponents only — Gas Powered Games has already confirmed that anyone caught using it competitively will be banned.
This exploit requires the use of units from both the UEF and Aeon factions, so it is a bit hard to pull off unless you’re in a team game and have teammates willing to donate you units. You’ll need a CZAR, some UEF tech 2 gunships, and some tech 2 tanks. Load the tanks into the gunships and then load the gunships into the CZAR. Then, when the CZAR is killed (or when you Ctrl+K it), it will crash and leave behind all of the tanks that were loaded into the gunship, except that they will now be invisible and invulnerable. It’s really quite fun. The tanks will survive until you Ctrl+K them; not even nuclear explosions will kill them.
The reason I’m making the exploit public is just so everyone knows what to look out for, so someone won’t get away with using it against you in a ranked game. Also, it’s really fun to play around with, and it’s rather unlikely that it would be abused in competitive play. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next patch, and hopefully, that next patch will be soon. I’ve only confirmed this one specific instance of the exploit using the CZAR and UEF tech 2 gunships; for all I know, it may be possible to replicate the exploit using other carriers and other units. Invulnerable tech 2 tanks are bad enough, but imagine invulnerable combat SCUs.

Good call making it public. That does indeed sound fun, I may have to try it. By the way, competitively, by the time someone has the czar the other team will probably have swamped them with SABs.

Another problem is that when you play as Aeon you can’t build tactical missle defence, the commander or other units will act as though they are building but the beam won’t appear and the missle defense wont be built. Note: I only know of not being able to build them in skirmish since I havent played around on the internet yet to see if it dosen’t work there either.

I ran into this trick in Sandbox mode with the AI. Instead, I used an Atlantis. What you do is have planes dock at the Atlantis by hitting the new docking button. While they’re in their flight pattern preparing to land, you can submerge the Atlantis. If you time it right, some of the planes will land on a submerged Atlantis. These planes will then become invisible. Not sure if they’ll be invulnerable, but it seems very similar to the bug Cyde Ways posted.
Instead, what should happen is, if planes are trying to dock and all of a sudden the Atlantis submerges, all planes should just resume their original flight plans.

The best thing to do, that I’ve seen, is to do this with engineers. You can send them right under your opponents base and start reclaiming things, building point defenses, and generally having a good time.
Fortunately the work it takes to do this means that it’s really just a curiosity for bored players.

It’s confirmed that this is going to be fixed in an imminent hotfix, so have fun with it while you still can!

Capture the other guy’s base from inside. Capture a T3 Mass Fab in his farm and watch as the units around it blow it up and chain-blow his economy. Or reclaim his experimental as it’s being built. Hilarious.

Lol, I’m going to try that…
EDIT: XD Swamped the AI with 120 invisible/invulnerable tanks! Haha, I should’ve recorded it!

BTW, you can get the same bug with shield generators by turning on “ai_instabuild” and “ai_freebuild”. :P
