Supcom-Live’s Unconventional Tactics video
Supcom-Live’s Unconventional Tactics video is worth checking out. They highlight three unconventional tactics in a video reel: ghetto gunships, T2 tank drops, and combat commander drop. Okay, so the first tactic isn’t so unconventional anymore, but the tank drops are definitely a sight to behold, and the commander drop is so outrageous, we previously wrote about it here on SupComTalk.
These videos are something I wish I could do myself, but alas, I’ve never really gotten into video editing. I guess it’s just as well; it takes a lot more work and effort to make a five minute video than to write a post that takes five minutes to read. Hence why this site is updated almost every day with a new post, whereas Supcom-Live sees a new video about once a month. But I do appreciate the effort!
And I’m going to start dropping in attackers more often. Players typically fortify the front of their lines very well, but as this video shows, transports make it quite easy to use real-time tactics changing and attack the vulnerable underbelly of your opponent for massive damage.

To be honest I was not very impressed by this video. People call these unconventional tactics but I see so much of it it is just another thing I defend against. The other day someone did catch me completly off gaurd with a t2 tank drop. Dropped in the middle of some of my eco buildings near my com so I ctrl+k’d my eco buildings and the tank drop went away (:

Haha Wuped, okay you win, now that is an unconventional tactic.

I’ve done that once before too, killing a row of mass fabs that enemy units are on top of to minimize their damage. It’s fun, but the question of whether you do more damage to yourself or to your enemy is still up in the air.

As good as Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is that really isn’t the kind of music you should be rocking when crusing in your ghetto gunship.
