Supreme Commander 2 is announced

The development of Supreme Commander 2 has been announced. The unexpected part is that the series is switching from its former publisher, THQ, to Square Enix. Yes, that Square Enix, the ones that make Final Fantasy.

This sounds like it could be incredibly awesome, and I’m definitely looking forward to it. No release date is set yet and it’ll probably be a while, but who knows, maybe this blog will become active again with the release of SupCom2.

That’s the best news I’ve heard in quite some time.

Since I don’t have Internet access at home I’m glad they have not gone with Stardock (like they did for their last game) otherwise I would not be able to install the patches since Stardocks patches can only be installed via Impulse and Impulse only works if there is a net connection. If previous form is any indication I will need the patches!

Looking forward to it. What ever happened to that other SupCom1 expansion pack? The experimentals or something.

    It got cancelled.

I’m actually glad. They can now focus on Supcom 2. BRING IT! I have some ideas for it on my blog if you’re bored under ‘RTS Concept’, btw.

WOOT! sup com 2! pleas don’t make it unplayable by ridiculous system requirements and crippled by lack of promised or overlooked features! I just want to play with my 10000 units without all the micro like we were promised! we got sooo close with fa! maybe put in a resource that requires map control like energy in perimeter or gold in rise of nations. also don’t make the the multilayer interface suck, so that the problems the game does have can be easily fixed and distributed by the community. Oh GPG, maker of almost-epic games, pleas learn from your past! that is all I ask!
